What is AQL?

AQL (Acceptable Quality Limit) is the international standard (ISO 2859-1) used for product inspections. It defines the maximum number of defects allowed in a sample for the entire lot to be accepted.

Critical Defects (0)

Unsafe or dangerous products. Zero tolerance.

Major Defects (2.5)

Functional issues that make the product unsaleable.

Minor Defects (4.0)

Aesthetic imperfections that do not affect use.

How to use the calculator?

  • 11. Enter your total lot size (e.g., 5000 pieces).
  • 22. Select the Inspection Level (General Level II is the industry standard).
  • 33. Set AQL limits for Critical, Major, and Minor defects.

Knowing the AQL theory is just the first step. You need an experienced team on the ground. At Marystelv Quality Control we perform over 200 monthly inspections in Romania, strictly applying the ISO 2859-1 standard to protect international brands.
